Charles has 34 years’ experience in structured finance, mergers and acquisitions and project finance.

He was the founder and head of Standard Bank and Investec Bank UK’s power project finance businesses in 1995 and 2001 respectively. During that time he raised $1.5B in debt and concluded $400M development and M&A transactions in Rep of Ireland, Tanzania, Namibia, Zambia, South Africa, Mali and Ghana.

In 2004, he founded first IPP in South Africa, BioTherm Energy for which he raised a US$150 million investment in 2008 from Denham Capital and developed several pioneering off-balance sheet (C&I) projects in South Africa.

He has served in a number of C-suite positions in the energy sector for the past 17 years and is a London-based energy entrepreneur.
He holds BCom, BCom (Hons), H Dip Tax Law and MBA degrees.
