Haytham has 17 years’ experience in business development and full cycle project development in large scale water and renewable energy in emerging markets across the Middle East and Africa.
He was head of strategic market development for a Dubai based (solar energy) IPP and developed to financial close 2x28MW solar PV power plants in Malawi. He also developed to mid stage a pipeline of 250 MW solar PV project in SADC countries.
Haytham was head of strategy and business development for Casablanca based, Gaia Energy Holding, a family office owned (wind energy) IPP where he originated and closed a 100MW/US$105 million wind farm project for a pool of corporate PPAs in Southern Morocco. In addition, he developed (to mid-stage) a further 1GW wind pipeline including met masts installation, in Morocco, Tunisia, Ghana, Kenya and Tanzania.
He was also business development manager, North and West Africa for Seville based, Abengoa. He completed the post award development and financial close for a US$118 million - 100k cu. m/day, sea water desalination plant in Southern Morocco.
Haytham speaks fluent Arabic, English, French, intermediate German and basic Spanish and Portuguese.
He holds B.Eng and MBA degrees.
